About Motif Boutique

Motif Boutique isn’t just a shop—it’s a celebration of colour, creativity, and community, brought to life by founder Amy, a passionate entrepreneur with a big love for local artistry and heartfelt hustle.

Amy grew up in Brockville, Ontario, where summers of painting with her Grandma sparked her love for art and colour. After moving to Ottawa in 1995 to study Creative Advertising at Algonquin College, she found her way into the vibrant world of retail and beauty.

In 1999, she landed her dream job with MAC Cosmetics. For 23 amazing years, Amy brought artistry to life—from makeup artist to Regional Manager, even doing backstage glam at the Juno Awards. When life called for a reset, she focused on her mental health, found new purpose, and rediscovered the joy of creating.

That joy became Motif Boutique. What began as a 2021 pop-up is now a thriving shop in Wellington West, featuring 40+ local makers and a playful mix of slow-made, joy-sparking goods—all handpicked by Amy because they made her smile.

In 2025, Amy added Motif Workshops, turning the boutique into a community hub where people can craft, connect, and get creative together. Think tufted pillows, “makeup bag therapy,” and other experiences that leave you inspired and smiling.

Amy lives just blocks away, loves her neighbourhood, and champions local makers as collaborators, not just vendors. At Motif, every purchase creates three sparks of joy: one for the shopper, one for the maker, and a grateful one for Amy.
